There is a dedication plate adhered to the first inside page of volume 1 along with a pencil inscription. There is a pencil inscription on the same page in volume 2. Book cover demonstrates a beautiful gilt title, author and publisher down the spine. The spine does show some crushing to the top and bottom of the spine, and there is some light scuffing to the cloth in areas.
Generally the books are in very good condition and any wear is commensurate with their age and does not detract from the beauty of the books themselves.
