The Shabby Sheep Shop was lovingly established in 2021, right after I made the bold decision to leave behind a taxing and arduous corporate role. This shift allowed me to dedicate precious time to raise my three beautiful children and focus on passions close to my heart. By selling a delightful mix of books and antiques, alongside designing and crafting my very own handmade products for retail, I have been able to steadily nurture and grow the business over this period. However, as my children grew older and reached an age that granted me more free time, I was eager to expand and develop The Shabby Sheep Shop even further. I wanted to weave in more of my personal interests and passions, and this naturally led to the creation of The Shabby Sheep Book Shop.
Anyone who knows me well can quickly tell you that I have an enormous weakness for books—whether they’re old, new, used, fiction, or non-fiction. Over the years, this love has seen my personal collection grow significantly. It’s through the wonderful adventure of building my own library that I stumbled upon the grave reality that millions of books are simply discarded and sent to landfill every single year. This disheartening fact partly inspired me to shift my business focus more toward the re-sale of pre-loved books, with the heartfelt goal of preventing at least some of this literary tragedy from happening. Of course, several large and successful online companies already dominate the used book re-sale world, but there’s still plenty of space and opportunity for charming, locally focused businesses like mine to join this valuable cause.
To truly stand out and become the go-to source for pre-loved books, I have made it my mission to introduce simple, clear pricing combined with generous discounts and tailored offers for my customers. These savings are delivered through local pop-up book shop sales and conveniently via my website.
